This week I am going to write about copyright, design rights and social media.

First of all design rights are meant to protect the physical appearance and visual appeal of products. It is registered for 25 years.

‘Design right protects the shape of a three-dimensional design. It subsists if the design is recorded on paper, or if an article has been made according to that design.’

There are some interesting journals on the Internet about design rights:

As the picture shows, Copyright is part of someone’s Intellectual property rights. ‘Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights for its use and distribution. This is usually only for a limited time.’

If you are interested in this topic, you should read this book about interesting Cambridge Studies in Intellectual Property Rights.

Social media and privacy rights

Using social media became an everyday routine for people over the past few years. Children start to use mobile phones in their early ages, so in their teenager years, most of them have their own profiles in various types of social media websites. This means a big problem for their parents and themselves because they rarely know anything about privacy rights on the Internet. There is just a small percentage of people, who read privacy policy and usage rights before signing on to new social media websites.
